The Netflix Story Continues . . . They are Sorry Now. Wahh
Over the past few months Netflix announced splitting their current services in two and then charging current subscribers double for their service. So the price would be around 15/16 dollars and then they would have two separate services.
Well since they have done that the stock plummeted and the many customers have outraged and shown their anger. Frankly they lost the respect they have worked so hard to build simply overnight. All they really had to do was split the services in two and then charge half the price for each service. Now they are going even farther into the fray by changing the name of the DVD service to Qwikster. How is that any better. I think it is an even bigger crapload delivered. I think over the long term they have a strategy to further separate the two services.
Personally they should have left it alone and done a heck of a lot more communicating before making the changes. Even doing a poll would have been a step in the right direction. This sort of operational development should take months of communicating and planning to do correctly. You don’t do it over night via press blog release. That is what gets you in trouble.
Netflix your apologies are sincere but it is going to take a lot more than that to get me back on your good side!
